I think I can see the Dems already slipping away, not that it much matters, with such great "Change!" advocates as Barack and Biden leading the way. (And, yes, I've heard recently over and over why it DOES matter, so anyone commenting here that I offend, I'm sorry, but save yourselves explaining "why" -- I'm no longer in the market.)

But when we have a -- until recently secret -- detention center set up in Denver to receive those who don't agree, the anti-war, uninsured, laid off "radicals" who've lost their jobs and homes, or their sympathizers, it's pretty obvious the wall of authority surrounding 'em outside the convention center are facing the wrong direction. I'd much rather see those authorities deployed FACING THE CONVENTION CENTER and the threats being spewed inside towards the rest of us on the outside, being contained by removing those who spew them on national TV inside that center, and see THEM being carted off to that *special place* for the real rabble--our politicians!

Yeh, yeh, I know, I'm an extremist. At least I'm not a "liberal" as Republicans are allowed to define them, i.e., "Barack is the most liberal senator!" (Give me a break.)

BTW, where'd McCain get that great looking hat, at an Old Navy store? (My apologies, I hate using ageist attacks on someone who hasn't had an easy time of it, especially a war hero like McCane.) But I appreciated this blog.

I'm in the middle of a crapitulist meltdown. But if this comment is allowed to stand, thank you! Thanks for a space to vent my frustrations since I've had to remove myself from blogging.

We're definitely in for some "interesting times" in the next couple of days, weeks, months! (Already we've seen one assassination plot foiled by some racist?, extreme right winger?, or disgruntled Hillary lover? It's so much easier to find a sympathetic aircraft mechanic instead, after all, we already have a history littered with unsolved "solved" assassinations.)

all I know after watching the opening day of the Democratic convention last night is that if Obama and the DNC can't find a way to make this election about the terrible job the Republicans have done while occupying the WH for the past 8 yrs, we are going to say hello to President McCain come November.....

com'on Democrats..... time to kick some Republican butt!

You are so right about the hidden message. I always just thought he was supporting the branch of the military he served in. I didn't equate it with his constant reminders of POW experiences ... until now!

Anyone who doubts McC's driving desire to be prez should know his doctors advised he wear some kind of flesh-colored mask after his cancer treatments, but he wouldn't do it because of the image it presented to the voters of a damaged man. I think a man willing to purposefully expose himself to recurrence of deadly melanoma for votes would also willingly expose us to many deadly things in the name of his presidency. 'nuff said.
