Kentucky Derby

Jamie, over at Durward Discussion, and maven of Crawford's List, posts all of the Kentucky Derby horses and each person stopping by can play the horses. I picked Visionaire, a 20-1 favorite, to win this year. I know nothing about horses, but I liked the name and it was still available when I signed on about a week or so ago. Since then, I have another blogger, Ivy Green, traveling down the same road with me today. If you can get through the hundred or so posts on politics, you can see which horses are running, what hole their running out of, and the odds of winning.

I think it's appropriate for Jamie to post the Derby horses at Crawford's List, a hyper-political shouting match, as there isn't much difference between the horses and who wins than who is running for president and who will eventually win. Fortunately, the horse race is over in about two minutes or so instead of the two years it is taking to see who will win the White House in January 2009.

P.S. The race is over now. It was won by the favorite Big Brown. Tragically, Eight Belles was put down after breaking both front ankles in placing second. Visionaire came in 12th.

my horse, Anak Nakal, came in 7th.... which isn't too bad considering he was a 60-1 shot.... I'm totally bummed about Eight Belles...

I've read your post below about "Carrier".... I enjoyed the post and your and dada's exchange in the comments..... I have two friends who's husbands were in the Navy.....

one of them says that in the Navy you learn to drink regular coffee.... black....
he tells a funny story about going out to California a few yrs ago to visit family and going into a Starbucks and trying to order "coffee...black"....
he said the clerk couldn't understand what he was trying to order.....

BTW.... Rick is from Greenville, NH.... not Greenfield....
